LOUGHBOROUGH GREENFIELDS CRICKET CLUB

!!!Top Weekend!!!

Greenfields started about getting their season back on track this weekend following good victories for both the 1st and 2nd team. The 1sts travelled into central Leicester to take on fellow bottom half battlerers Lecky Sports. Following good innings from Rob Moore (75) and Steve Loveridge (99),  Fields posted a respectabel 230(ish). Lecky then proceeded to produce momentary scares but were bowled out for 200 with Foz taking 4 for and MK Booth 2.
The 2nd team also produced a top result to beat Gracedieu in another bottom half clash in Div 7. After all contributing to get the score up around the 200 mark, Rob Wild decided to take the game by the scruff of the neck and race through the Gracedieu Park attack with 8 wickets to his name.
Following all this, Sunday brought up a 95* for Cab, whilst Yoz and Jack Elliot both scored maiden 50's. Tomasz Williams bowled a couple of spells of top swing bowling, whilst young 12 year Danny Bryans took his first ever two senior wickets, and also claimed a run out.
Hopefully this weekends form can continue into future weeks, with both sides again facing key clashes this weekend against the struggling Billesdon.

Juniors

In the midway point of the junior season, all our youth cricketerers have played beyond expectations, with the under 13s sitting comfortably in third place of a competitive league, after narrowly missing out on top spot on Sunday following a defeat to top of the table Kegworth with just two balls to spare. The under 15s also sit handsomely at the top end of the table after only losing one league game to the highly fancied Ibstock. The Kwik Cricketers are also putting in a string of good performances on their Friday night games.
